Dating etiquette for teenagers

It might be a good idea to split them up and do them on 3 different occasions. Help your teen understand that it isn’t healthy to get in serious relationships before reaching a certain maturity level. Setting all of these expectations early will set you up for success. What kinds of activities are ok, and what would make them uncomfortable?We’ve thrown in ideas for activities and some fabulous resources to help you out as well! As we get older, dating becomes more about finding love and a companion to settle down with. This would also be a great time to have your teens think about what’s important to them when dating. Help your kids set their own personal standards and expectations for their dates, and teach them about how to be safe and make sure they respect themselves and their dates.Those who have already taken "Tools of the Table" will review/refine such skills as Proper Introductions, Telephone/Internet Etiquette and Safety and Dining Skills.They will also learn new skills such as Respect and Honesty, Proper Posture, Skin Care, Clothing/Fashion, and Public Speaking Skills.This class is designed for mature students (ages 12-18) who are too busy with sports and extra-curricular commitments to attend the traditional five weeks of etiquette classes. This is a three hour class and only for those students who have long attention spans.The formal five course dinner is optional, but recommended.Bad Date – In this bad date, Gru isn’t being himself, he’s wearing a wig! (If you have access the whole movie, you may want to rewind and watch a little more of the date). Have a family game night and play this dating practice review game. Just pick a slip of paper, and act out or draw what the paper indicates. You will have a blast showing what to do (and what NOT to do) on a date!His date is constantly talking about herself, insulting him, and embarrassing him. Daughters can respectfully accept a date from her father, and practice their etiquette and respect during the date.

And finally, the parents will be invited to the last class session to see what their children have learned in "Tools of the Table." This is a 5 hour course. Participants will have the option to experience a Five-Course dinner served in a formal dining room for an additional fee.Planning different and exciting activities for dates will keep things from getting awkward and will be SO much more fun!If all kids ever do is “hang out,” won’t they do the same when they’re married?Children will also learn how to make proper introductions, using a firm handshake and while making eye contact.Each week we will practice the art of conversation in a social setting.
